Taking the train from Mumbai Airport can be faster than taking a taxi, but if you have luggage, consider that you still have to get to the station, and trains can be crowded.

There is currently no direct Mumbai Airport train service.
You can, however, reach central Mumbai - Mumbai CST (previously Victoria) and Churchgate stations - by nearby surburban train service. Here are the closest Mumbai Suburban Railway stations to each terminal:
- Terminal 1 (Domestic Terminals T1A & T1B, or "Santacruz"): Ville Parle (East) is closest, with service on the Western Line and Harbour Line
- Terminal 2 (International Terminal, or "Sahar"): [cim]Andheri (East)
For Mumbai Airport trains, you will still need to get to the station by taxi, bus or walking (see the Bus page for details).
Travel time into central Mumbai is approximately 30-45 minutes, but can be crowded at peak times.
There are plans to connect Mumbai's new Metro system to the Mumbai Airport, but no timeline has been set.
