Delhi Airport Public Bus Recommendations

A public bus from is an inexpensive Delhi Airport transfer method, but is really only convenient if your hotel in New Delhi is near the New Delhi Railway Station terminus and you don't have a lot of luggage. Yet, for the budget traveller, it's a good money saver.

There are buses from Delhi Airport to the city centre every 25 minutes (travel time about 50 minutes). Luxury buses with air conditioning depart from the International terminal. The two bus companies are:


  • Delhi Transport Corporation (green-yellow buses)
  • Ex Serviceman's Airlink Transport Service (EATS) (white-blue buses)


Both companies have their final destination at New Delhi Railway Station. Tickets can be bought and a fixed seat can be booked at a desk in the Delhi Airport Arrivals hall. Also of interest is the Punjab Coach Service.

 

EATS Bus to the city:


Buses run to ISBT (Inter State Bus Terminal) near Kashmiri Gate, Connaught Place, Delhi Train Station and many hotels in the city centre. Buses run according to flight schedules at DEL Delhi International Airport, and depart from both terminals and leave terminal II for the city every 60 minutes 00:10-23:10 every hour of the day and night. Fares are:

Heavy Luggage INR 25

 

DTC Bus to the city:


Delhi Transport Company (DTC) also runs buses to the city. Buses leave Delhi Airport Terminal 2 for the city every 60 minutes 05:20-00:20. Fares are:

Heavy Luggage INR 25

 

Punjab Coach Service:


An air-conditioned Coach service is available from the counter of Punjab Tourism, in the Delhi Airport Arrivals hall at Terminal 2. The coach runs between the Airport Terminal 2 and Amritsar via Karnal, Ambala, Rajpura, Ludhiana and Jullandhar.


Fare is INR 550.

There are private buses operating 24 hours a day from the Delhi Airport. They must be booked in advance.

 

Haryana Roadways operates a private luxury bus service from Terminal 3 from to Gurgaon and onwards to Chandigarh 15 times a day.

 

The Delhi-Lahore Bus is jointly operated by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC).

 

From Delhi to Lahore:


  • There is a DTC Bus every Monday, Wednesday and Friday
  • There is a PTDC Bus every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
  • Buses depart from Ambedkar Stadium Bus Terminal near Delhi Gate

 

From Lahore to Delhi:


  • There is a DTC bus every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
  • There is a PTDC bus every Monday, Wednesday and Friday
  • Buses depart from the Lahore-Delhi Bus Terminal at Gulberg-III near Libery Market
