This new airport is slated to handle all commercial flights to and from Berlin, and will encompass the existing smaller, but better located, Schoenfeld airport.

Update: Berliners are petitioning to keep Tegel Airport open after the new BER airport opens.

Important: the opening of the new Berlin Brandenberg BER Airport has been postponed to 2018, at the earliest. The city's other two airports, Schoenefeld SXF and Templehof THF will continue to operate until that time, at the earliest.
