Wacky Adventure Walk Game - Edmonton, AB

Wacky Adventure Walk Game - Edmonton, AB
Duration:
2 hours
From:
USD 10.00
Wacky Walks is a unique walking game. It is similar to a board game in which the power, or control shifts from one player to another, and instead of a board, you'll be navigating the city streets with your smartphone to play.
The objective of the game is to have fun, learn some facts about the city, be a little wacky, and enjoy the company of whoever you are playing with. Wacky Walks will start out by designating who will be the first King or Queen (kind of like a Team Captain), but don't worry, that could soon change. You'll then go out on checkpoints throughout the city.
At each checkpoint, the players will need to answer a question about the checkpoint and the players, or “pawns” as we call them will perform a task for the King or Queen.
Wacky Walks is done completely on foot and usually takes about two hours to complete. But don't worry, you won't be alone. You'll have a remote/virtual guide that will be available in case you get stuck.

Edmonton Airport taxi service can be simply obtained by going outside of Doors 3 and 9 of the Arrivals Hall. There is a green button that can be pushed indicating that a passenger is awaiting a pick-up. The sirport's contract with the Airport Taxi Service specifies that there are always taxis available for hire.

Airport taxi drivers all wear an Edmonton Airport identification card while working so customers know that they are taking an official airport taxi.

Taxi companies serving the Edmonton Airport as part of the Airport Taxi Service are:

 • 24-7 Taxi
 • Airport Taxi Service
 • Barrel Taxi
 • Checker Cabs
 • Co-op Taxi

Unofficial Edmonton Airport Taxi Service or Hire Points

You will be able to obtain an 'unofficial YEG taxi' from the Edmonton Airport Departures Level 2 by taking the escalator or elevator up from the Arrivals Level. There is no real cost savings by attempting this approach unless you work out a flat rate deal with the taxi driver, but the flat rate will be similar regardless of the taxi company.

Edmonton Airport Taxi Scams

Minimum Fare Enforcement

A few taxi drivers will not pick up or deliver passengers to and from the Edmonton Airport unless it is substantially outside of the Edmonton Airport vicinity (this is known as 'short tripping'). The EIA prohibits this practice and any Airport Taxi Service whom is found short tripping will face a 30-day suspension.

Tip: Hotels near the Edmonton airport in Leduc offer free shuttle service or reimburse LeducTaxis for transporting passengers the short distance. Leduc Taxis will pick you up if you are near the airport but the minimum fare will be CAD 10.00, so best to book hotels that offer this service for free. See the Hotel Shuttle page.
