Icewine is one of Canada's national treasures. Naturally frozen grapes hand-picked from the vines are crushed so that only the sweet nectar of the grape is used to make wine. Therefore it's an arduous, risky and time consuming process. However it has become tradition for a reason as its results are absolutely delicious! There is no better time to check it out (and taste it up) than during the Niagara Icewine Festival. <br>Learning all about ice wine production and cool climate grapes is even more fun during this festival. To top it off, a locally-sourced lunch will be enjoyed at an award-winning winery. Your guide will give you plenty of information about the ice wine characteristics and regulations and also how to best enjoy the festivities and events going on at Niagara-on-the-Lake, as well as a low down of the whole area. We will have you back to Toronto by 6pm, always depending on traffic.
