Amsterdam Driving Stress Level: 6/10

Freeways in Holland are known for their congestion, including those that surround Amsterdam, such as the A2 to Maastricht and the A4 to Belgium. Both of these roads frequently experience enormous traffic jams during rush hours and periods of heavy traffic. Smaller roads in the Amsterdam area are generally easy to drive around, although some roads can be rather narrow and operate traffic-calming schemes, such as speed-bumps.

Parking in Amsterdam is pricey, with pay and display parking areas operating throughout the city's central zone, between the hours of 09:00 and midnight Monday to Saturday, and from 12:00 to midnight each Sunday. However, prices reduce outside of this area.
