Buffalo Niagara Airport (BUF) Services & Amenities

BUF Buffalo Niagara International Airport has facilities to accommodate a wide range of disabled travellers passing through their doors including:

• Autistic travellers can arrange acclamation sessions customer service and TSA
• Electric carts and drivers are available post-security to assist moving passengers to gates
• Elevators are available for gates requiring ramp level boarding
• Guide dogs or companion animals are allowed on planes if necessary for the traveller. All must be kept confined unless they are needed to help navigate the airport
• Oxygen is provided by many airlines once the passenger is on the plane, but check with airline first. Pre-flight arrangements are required by all airlines
• Reserved parking spaces are available in front of the terminal on Arrivals level to facilitate pick-up and there are reserved spaces in all lots. Individuals who possess a valid handicapped parking permit and park for less than one-hour will be granted free parking in the airport’s Short-Term lot. After the first hour patrons will be charged the current hourly rate. Anyone wishing to take advantage of the free parking in the Short-Term lot will be required to present a time-stamped parking ticket along with a valid handicap parking permit or a handicap license plate upon exiting the ramp
• Passenger Escorts are provided by most airlines for a fee: primarily for elderly or children
• Companion Care rest rooms are provided throughout terminal: large enough to accommodate wheelchairs or several people. Each bathroom has one stall large enough to accommodate wheelchairs
• A separate lane is provided to accommodate families with small children and travellers who need extra assistance
• TTY/TDD phones are available throughout terminal at each phone bank
• If wheelchair assistance is going to be required while at the BUF Buffalo Niagara International Airport you should make advance arrangements with your carrier.
