Ercan Airport

Where is Ercan Airport?

Nicosia, known locally as Lefkosia, is the largest city in Cyprus. The northern and southern parts of the city are divided by a Green Line. The northern portion, North Nicosia, functions as the capital of the self-proclaimed Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Ercan International Airport (IATA: ECN, ICAO: LCEN), also referred to as Tymvou Airport, North Nicosia Airport, Lefkosa Airport, or simply Ercan Airport, is situated in the village of Tymvou, just east of North Nicosia city. It is the sole airport serving Northern Cyprus.

While it has previously been assigned IATA and ICAO airport codes, as the airport lies in an internationally unrecognized country, its airport codes do not appear in the official IATA and ICAO lists. As its international airport status is also not recognized, no direct international flights are permitted.

Ercan Airport serves about 200,000 passengers a year.

Airlines that fly to Ercan Airport include Atlasjet, Onur Air, Pegasus Airlines, Sky Airlines, SunExpress and Turkish Airlines.

Cities with flights to Ercan Airport include Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Gaziantep, Hatay, Istanbul, Izmir, Kassel, Manchester and Trabzon (flights outside Turkey, must touch down at another Turkish Airport before proceeding to Ercan Airport).

Your best bet for a Ercan Airport transfer is a taxi. Details on all options are included in this guide.
