Lake Express is a high-speed (50 mph) cross-lake ferry operating between Milwaukee and Muskegon, MI. The ferry operates seasonally, with three daily crossings each way during the summer peak season, and two daily crossings each way during the autumn and spring. The ferry does not operate during the winter. On occasion, trips are delayed or cancelled due to weather. Prices are comparable to air travel - the ferry is relatively expensive (USD 68 one way for walk-on). The Milwaukee terminal is located at 2330 S Lincoln Memorial Dr. This is several kilometres south of Downtown Milwaukee, and is NOT convenient to other transportation connections. MCTS does NOT serve the Lake Express terminal; the nearest MCTS service (route 53) is about 800 metres away. Lake Express provides an expensive shuttle to downtown hotels, but not to airports or other transport terminals. Your best option is to bring a bicycle on the ferry, or take a taxi to/from the ferry terminal.

SS Badger, also formerly known as Lake Michigan Carferry, is a cross-lake ferry operating between Manitowoc and Ludington, MI. The ferry operates seasonally, with two daily crossings each way during the summer peak season, and one daily crossing each way during the autumn and spring. The ferry does not operate during the winter. On occasion, trips are delayed or cancelled due to weather. Prices are usually much less than less than local air travel from Green Bay. The Manitowoc terminal is located at 900 S Lakeview Dr. Maritime Transit operates a shuttle to their downtown transit centre. The Greyhound stop is nearly eight kilometres away. The Ludington terminal, in downtown, is not served by any local transit or intercity services.
