All rental vehicles are 4WD and suitably equipped for Falkland Island roads but rental companies do not permit off-road usage. Vehicles may be manual or automatic.

The Falkland Islands are a relatively easy drive but be careful with excessive speed on gravel roads and watch for wandering livestock and wildlife. Hirers must be aware that there are no vehicle recovery services on the Islands.
