Oklahoma City Airport

Where is Oklahoma City Airport?

Oklahoma City, the capital of Oklahoma state, is a centre for energy (it is situated in the middle of an active oil field), farming (it features one of the world's largest livestock markets) and, more recently, information technology and health services. Oklahoma City is also home to the United States Tinker Air Force Base and the Mike Monroney Aeronautical Centre.

On May 20, 2013, the Oklahoma City metropolitan area was struck by a devastating tornado.

Oklahoma City Airport (IATA: OKC, ICAO: KOKC, FAA LID: OKC), oficially Will Rogers World Airport, also known as Will Rogers Airport, Oklahoma City Will Rogers Airport, or simply Will Rogers, is located in southwestern Oklahoma City, 8 kilometres (6 miles) from downtown, in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma state, United States. It is sometimes referred to as WRWA Airport, including by the local airport authority, however this is not an official airport code. The airport is named to honor legendary cowboy and comedian Will Rogers, an Oklahoma native, who died in an airplane crash in the area.

In 2014, Oklahoma City Airport served 3.83 million passengers, making it Oklahoma's busiest. The city's other airport, Wiley Post Airport (PWA), is a general aviation, corporate and reliever airport.

Airlines that fly to Oklahoma City Airport include AirTran Airways, American Airlines, American Eagle, Delta Air Lines, Delta Connection, Frontier Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines and United Express.

Cities with flights to Oklahoma City Airport include Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Memphis, Minneapolis, New York, Orlando, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, St. Louis and Washington DC.
