Inuvik Mike Zubko Airport

Where is Inuvik Mike Zubko Airport?

For 30 days in winter, Inuvik experiences polar night, when the sun doesn't rise. Yet for 56 days in summer, the sun never sets at all. The local people really do celebrate the 'midnight sun', gathering for a great arts festival here for 10 days each July.

In contrast, you really can get lost here. You can explore untouched lands for miles - by boat, ATV or snowmobile - but take a guide with you; Inuvik is a very isolated town, and you want to make sure you get back.

Inuvik Mike Zubko Airport (IATA: YEV, ICAO: CYEV), commonly referred to as Inuvik Airport, lies east of the town of Inuvik, in the Northwest Territories, Canada. Mike Zubko, for whom the airport is named, ran a bush pilot service in Canada's north.

Airlines serving Inuvik Airport include Air North, Aklak Air, Canadian North, First Air and North-Wright Airways.

Destinations served include Aklavik, Dawson City, Edmonton, Fort Good Hope, Fort McPherson, Norman Wells, Old Crow, Paulatuk, Sachs Harbour, Tuktoyaktuk, Ulukhaktok, Whitehorse and Yellowknife.

In summer, air service by floatplane is also possible, via the nearby Inuvik Shell Lake Water Aerodrome (June-September).

Both the Inuvik Airport and the summer aerodrome are classified as airports of entry by NAV CANADA, staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency, allowing for cross-border flights into Inuvik.

Your best bet for an Inuvik Airport transfer is the shuttle. Details on all options are included in this guide.
