The Canada Line SkyTrain connects Vancouver Airport to downtown Vancouver, Richmond City Centre and beyond to both Burnaby and Surrey (with a transfer). Vancouver Airport train services to Waterfront Station (downtown Vancouver) run from 05:10 to 00:57.


You may purchase tickets at the Vancouver Airport from 7-Eleven or Pharmasave in the YVR Domestic Terminal Building, Level 1, or from any of the ticket vending machines on the Airport Canada Line station platforms (most people purchase on the platform and you can use cash, credit or debit card).


There is an additional charge of CAD 5 from any of the YVR Vancouver Airport SkyTrain stations to Richmond, downtown, or beyond. This additional charge is only applicable from the Vancouver Airport, not to the Vancouver Airport.


If you are traveling to Richmond, you will need to transfer trains at Bridgeport Station.


Note: If you have a Vancouver Airport layover and wish to explore Vancouver for the day, then consider purchasing a one-day transit pass from the 7-Eleven (NOT available from the platform machines) as the CAD 5 add-fare fee does not apply and the pass is valid on all transit services from 9:30 weekdays (anytime weekends) to well past midnight. The pass is about the same price as two trips on transit.
