The Longest Bar in the World
Allstadt, the Old Town of Düsseldorf, was almost completely destroyed during World War II. It has since been rebuilt according to historic plans, using the existing foundation walls, making it look just like a real historic town. A popular shopping mall by day, at night and on weekends it turns into the “longest bar of the world”, with more than 250 bars, coffee shops and snug brewing houses. You will find “Altbier” here, a top-fermented, dark beer that they say tastes best at historical brewing houses. Don't let the somewhat harsh manner of the Köbesse (waiters) put you off, as they are warm hearted.
