Frankfurt Airport Train Recommendations

IHateTaxis.com recommends the Frankfurt Airport train service.

The Frankfurt Airport train is a very efficient way of getting to town or beyond, although the ticket machines may be a bit challenging to figure out. For the S-Bahn into the city, a photo is shown above the ticket machine, and basically you should follow these steps:

  • Select a destination on the list on the machine, and pick out its code.
  • Punch the destination code number in the machine, and select a coloured button below for single adult, child, etc.
  • Pay the amount for the ticket.

Frankfurt Airport Train Rates & Fares

The S-Bahn train from Frankfurt Airport fare is EUR 3.60 with travel time around 12-15 minutes (a day travel card is available for EUR 7.30). Tickets available from the machines. Press code 50 for the city centre. Machines do give information in English. Your ticket is also valid on any connecting buses. Payment at machines is in EUR (coins, 5 or 10 ONLY, no other denominations) or German ATM Eurocards. Credit cards and other currencies are NOT accepted.
