Official Boryspil Airport taxis may be hired from the taxi stand to the right about 20 m when you exit the KBP Boryspil Airport's customs area. Note that unofficial taxis operate here too and expect to be approached immediately after exiting customs (see below).

 Unofficial Boryspil Airport Taxi Service or Hire Points

 

Expect to be approached by several individuals offering Boryspil Airport taxi rides to town. These are unofficial taxis and their job is to get as much money out of you as possible with starting prices at USD 50 or more. In addition to the high price, many of the drivers do not speak English, so you might not understand either the price or destination anyways and be taken somewhere else and yet another discussion will occur on the new price. If you decide to go this route, have your destination written down and write down the price too in the currency to be paid and make sure that both of you agree before setting off.


While in Kiev, do note that basically any car can be a taxi and if you need a ride, just try hailing any car and one will likely stop for you. Unfortunately if you do not speak Russian, asking their destination and agreeing on a pirce will be next to impossible.
