There are several museums to choose from:

• Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Art collection housed in a beautiful 1930s building and a new, critically acclaimed modern wing by Steven Holl. Closed Mondays. Free. 
• Kansas City Sculpture Park. On the site of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art (above).
• Toy and Miniature Museum. Near the UMKC campus. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
• Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art. Closed Mondays. Free.
• American Jazz Museum. Closed Mondays.. 
• Negro Leagues Baseball Museum. Closed Mondays.
• Steamboat Arabia Museum. Open 7 days a week. 
• National World War I Museum and Liberty Memorial. Take an elevator to the observation deck at the top of the 200-ft (62 m) obelisk for spectacular views. Closed Mondays.
• The "other" airport, Kansas City Downtown Airport (MKC), is home to the National Aviation Museum, located in Hangar 9 (plan your visit).

The Harley-Davidson Final Assembly Plant offers free tours. Learn about manufacturing and assembly processes, and enjoy sitting on current production motorcycles. The gift shop features tour-related souvenirs. No cameras allowed. No open toe shoes or high heels! Hours vary seasonally.

Union Station, home to Amtrak station, is the nation's second largest train station with ceiling over 100 feet high (31 metres). On-site are:
