A taxi service is available on the Island, however, you can not simply flag one down - you will have to book a cab in advance if you want to go anywhere. There is no public transport on the Island. Most people that arrive at the NLK Norfolk Island Airport have rides pre-arranged.

Please note there is only ONE taxi on the whole island - at the moment you can call the taxi for free from any public or local phone on the island (all local phone calls on the island are currently free).
