Where is Knock Airport?  


The village of Knock is home to the Knock Shrine, which 1.5 million Catholic pilgrims visit annually. The shrine marks the spot where the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph and John the Evangelist supposedly appeared on August 21,1879.


Pope John Paul II visited in 1979 to commemorate the centenary of the apparition.


Knock International Airport (IATA: NOC, ICAO: EIKN), officially Ireland West Airport Knock, also known as Knock Ireland West Airport, Connaught Regional Airport, Connaught Airport, Horan Airport, or, simply, Knock Airport, is located 20 kilometres (12.4 miles) from the village of Knock, in County Mayo, Ireland. NOC Airport is situated 5.6 kilometres (3.5 miles) southwest of Charlestown.


In 2013, Knock Airport served 665,558 passengers, making it 4th busiest in the Republic of Ireland after Dublin Airport (DUB), Cork Airport (ORK) and Shannon Airport (SNN).
