Where is Weeze Airport?  

With a history dating back to the Stone Age, in a countryside dotted with old castles, Weeze was once known for its shoemakers, carpenters and woodworkers.

Largely destroyed in World War II, and rebuilt by its citizens, Weeze remains lively: the town centre is home to the Kirmes (carnival fair), street parties, and Christmas markets.

Weeze Airport (IATA: NRN, ICAO: EDLV), officially Niederrhein Airport, also known as Laarbruch Airport or Airport Weeze, is located near the city of Cleves, 3.7 kilometres (2.3 miles) southwest of the city of Weeze, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

While referred to as Dusseldorf Weeze Airport by low-cost airlines (or Dusseldorf Weeze Airport), this name is very deceiving, as NRN is located 70 kilometres (43 miles) from Dusseldorf. Not to be confused with Dusseldorf International Airport (DUS), which is located just a few kilometres from Düsseldorf city.

In 2013, Weeze Airport served 2,487,843 passengers.
