Local motorbike taxi drivers can and will offer fares like THB 40 to the market or THB 250 straight to Phuket. You can either bargain hard, or just wait for an arriving songthaew; even if the driver is not going to Patong, he will drop you at the bus station for no more than THB 20, or probably THB 10 each if there are more than 2-3 of you.
