If you wish to take a taxi from Siem Reap airport into town, you can take a tuk tuk (the Cambodian version of a taxi) or a motodop (motorcycle). Tuk tuks may be hired outside the Arrivals at Siem Reap Angkor airport for about USD 7-8. Or, if you can place your luggage on your back and are travelling solo, then you can hire a motodop to act as your taxi into Siem Reap town for about USD 4-5, depending on your negotiation skills.

Angkor Wat Tours (Not a scam, but worth considering)


Many tuk tuk drivers pick up their clients for tours to Angkor Wat initially from the REP Siem Reap International Airport. Before you get to your hotel expect the selling of future Angkor Wat taxi services from the driver. Cambodians generally do not cheat tourists; their initial prices might be a little high, but with some skill you should be able to get them down to about USD 10-12/day for tour guide services to the nearby sites. Alternatively you may wait until you get to your hotel, but prices are fairly consistent for drivers. If you have been impressed with your Siem Reap taxi driver then why not hire him for your Angkor Wat taxi tour over the next day or two?
