The SXF Berlin-Schönefeld Airport train station is a 400m walk away from the SXF Berlin-Schönefeld Airport terminal along a covered pathway.

There is a free shuttle bus that runs to the station every 10 minutes from 06:00 to 22:00, but it is quicker to walk (about 5-10 minutes). You can also take the number 171 bus which is free as far as the station (it runs about every 10 minutes, except 1–4am).

The Regional-Express AirportExpress trains (RE7, RB14, RB22) run from SXF Berlin-Schönefeld Airport into the city and stop at the most important Berlin stations:

  • Karlshorst
  • Berlin Ostbahnhof
  • Alexanderplatz
  • Friedrichstrasse
  • Hauptbahnhof (main or 'mitte')
  • Zoologischer Garten ('Zoo')
  • Berlin Spandau

The train takes about 30 minutes to reach the main station (Hauptbahnhof) or Zoo station. Trains run every 30 minutes between 05:00 and 23:00.

SXF Berlin-Schönefeld Airport train station is also connected to German railway’s intercity network. From here you can also catch IC and ICE trains to other points in Germany and abroad.

Tip: the AirportExpress is NOT dedicated to the airport, the airport station just happens to be on a service route that passes through, so final destinations can be a bit confusing.
