Joan Miro Foundation in Mallorca


Although it is a small collection if Miro’s work, the Joan Miro Foundation in Mallorca doesn’t disappoint. It’s a great modern gallery and meeting place, and there’s are works including Oiseaux and sculptures including the Personnages.

Poble Espanyo


Located in the Son Españolet district, the Poble Espanyol takes visitors through the history of Spanish architecture. First opened in the 1970s, the Spanish Village represent the most characteristic and famous elements of urban architecture in Hispanic geography.

La Seo Cathedral


Called the Pearl of Mallorca, the gothic towers of La Seo Cathedral is Palma de Mallorca’s main tourist attraction. The cathedral has nine bells in the tower, and is made from gold limestone.

Bellver Castle


One of the few European castles constructed in a circle, the Bellver Castle is a gothic building constructed in the early 1300s. Inside you can find archeological artifacts, art collections and a sculpture garden.

Banys Àrabs


The Arab bath building is the only building in Palma dating to the Arab settlement. In the 10th century, when the baths were constructed, and were sauna-style: the floor was heated and water added to make the room steamy. The small courtyard and 2 bath rooms accomodate up to 10 people at a time. EUR 2 adults, children free.

Drach Caves


The caves consists of an underground lake, with an orchestra playing, as you float on the lake in a boat. Unique!

Ride the Wooden Electric Train


Ferrocarril de Soller operates the quaint wooden electric train from Placa Espanya in Palma to Soller town, in the north-west of the island, and from where you can continue your relaxing scenic journey to Puerto Soller on the companion Electric Tram.

As always, make sure you leave plenty of time to get back to the Palma de Mallorca Airport in time for your connection and enjoy your layover city rather than whiling away the time leaning up against your luggage in the departures lounge.
