JNU Juneau Airport Info & Guide

Where is Juneau Airport?

The capital of Alaska, Juneau, carries the distinction of being the only USA capital with no roads connecting the city to the rest of the country. This is due to the extremely rugged nterrain that surrounds the city.

Juneau city centre sits at sea level, at the foot of steep mountains. The Juneau Icefield sits atop the mountains surrounding the city. Among the 30 glaciers that flow from it, are the Lemon Creek Glacier and the Mendenhall Glacier.

Juneau International Airport (IATA: JNU, ICAO: PAJN, FAA LID: JNU), or simply Juneau Airport, is located 11 kimometres (7 miles) northwest of the downtown Juneau, Alaska, United States.

As the only way in and out of the city (with exception of the Alaska Marine Highway and cargo ships), JNU Airport includes a floatplane runway/docking area, and a heliport.

Juneau Airport is a hub for Wings of Alaska. Other airlines that fly to Juneau Airport include Air Excursions, Alaska Airlines, Alaska Seaplane Service and Delta Air Lines.

Cities with flights to Juneau Airport include Anchorage, Angoon, Chatham, Cordova, Elfin Cove, Excursion Inlet, Funter Bay, Gustavus, Haines, Hoonah, Kake, Ketchikan, Pelican, Petersburg, Seattle, Sitka, Skagway, Tenakee Springs and Yakutat.
