Kampala Entebbe International Airport

Where is Kampala Entebbe Airport?

Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, is situated near the shores of Lake Victoria, in the South Central part of the country. Many Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) are based in Kampala, so there is a large expat community in the city.

The city of Kampala is said to be built on 7 hills, and areas of the city are known by their hill. The Kasubi Tombs, the Lubiri Palace and the city's array of markets are all of interest to this refreshingly safe African city.

Kampala Entebbe International Airport (IATA: EBB, ICAO: HUEN), also referred to as Kampala International Airport, Entebbe International Airport, Kampala Entebbe Airport, Kampala Airport or Entebbe Airport, is located near the town of Entebbe, on the shores of Lake Victoria, about 35 kilometres (21 miles) southwest of Kampala city centre, in Kampala District, Uganda.

EBB is not to be confused with Kololo Airstrip (KLA), the now largely defunct grass airstrip within Kampala's city limits, and sometimes referred to as Kampala Airport. In reality, when visitors to Uganda make their travel plans, they expect "Kampala Airport" to refer to the capital city's main international airport. At this time, that is in Entebbe, although plans to construct an international airport in Kampala city.

In 2012, Kampala Entebbe Airport served 1,230,000 passengers, making it the busiest airport in Uganda.

Kampala Entebbe Airport is a hub for Air Uganda, Eagle Air and Royal Daisy Airline. Other airlines that fly to Kampala Entebbe Airport include African Express Airways, Air Burundi, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, EgyptAir, Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, Feeder Airlines, Kenya Airways, KLM, Nasair, Precision Air, Qatar Airways, RwandAir, South African Airways, South Supreme Airlines, Turkish Airlines and United Airlines.

Cities with flights to Kampala Entebbe Airport include Addis Ababa, Adjumani, Amsterdam, Arua, Brussels, Bujumbura, Cairo, Dar es Salaam, Doha, Dubai, Gulu, Istanbul, Johannesburg, Juba, Khartoum, Kigali, Kilimanjaro, London, Mogadishu, Mombasa, Moyo, Nairobi, Nebbi, Pakuba and Yei.
