6-Day Cox's Bazar Beach and Saint Martin Island Tour

6-Day Cox
Duration:
6 days
From:
USD 311.00
Bangladesh’s pride and joy, Cox’s Bazar Beach is lauded throughout the land as if it’s a contender for one of the natural wonders of the world. It is the longest continual natural beach on the planet (125km), but a world wonder it isn’t. In fact, it’s not even the nicest beach in Bangladesh (the beaches on nearby Saint Martin Island and at Kuakata in Barisal division are far more scenic). However, Cox’s Bazar Beach is the most developed of any holiday destination in Bangladesh and as such you’ll find tourist facilities that are better than anywhere outside Dhaka. Don’t come here expecting to find a piece of southern Thailand, but if your travels are getting the better of you and you just fancy some home comforts and a bit of fresh air, consider swinging by for a couple of days.

Dhaka Driving Information

Driving is on the left side of the road.

All Zia Airport rental cars are automatic transmission.

Your local drivers' licence is required.

An International Drivers' Permit (or IDP) may be required, especially if your local drivers' licence is in a language other than the local language (you may inquire when you pick up your car).

Dhaka Driving Stress Level: 10/10

Road safety is poor. Traffic is heavy and chaotic in urban areas. There are frequent and often lethal crashes caused by speeding, dangerous and aggressive overtaking, sudden manoeuvres, etc. Vehicles and roads are badly maintained and often unlit; drivers, if in lit vehicles, will often have the light full-beam. In addition to all this, banditry is a problem after dark. It is possible to reach virtually everywhere by road, but given the geography of the country, with frequent ferry crossings being a necessity, together with the poor quality of many of the roads, road travel can be very slow.
