 Nassau International Airport

Where is Nassau Airport?

The capital of the Bahamas, Nassau, is situated on the island of New Providence, which functions much like a business district. About 70% of Bahamas residents reside in Nassau.

Historically, Nassau was considered historically to be a stronghold of pirates. Today, it is a popular tourist destination, and is popular with cruise visitors.

The airport is named to honour The Right Honourable Sir Lynden Oscar Pindling, first Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Although often referred to as LPIA Airport, this is not an official IATA airport code.
