 Nassau International Airport

Where is Nassau Airport?

The capital of the Bahamas, Nassau, is situated on the island of New Providence, which functions much like a business district. About 70% of Bahamas residents reside in Nassau.

Historically, Nassau was considered historically to be a stronghold of pirates. Today, it is a popular tourist destination, and is popular with cruise visitors.

Nassau International Airport (IATA: NAS, ICAO: MYNN), also known as Nassau Lynden Pindling International Airport, Nassau Lynden Pindling Airport, Nassau Pindling Airport, or Bahamas Airport, is located 16 kilometres (9.9 miles) west of Nassau city centre, western New Providence Island, Bahamas. The airport is named to honour The Right Honourable Sir Lynden Oscar Pindling, first Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Although often referred to as LPIA Airport, this is not an official IATA airport code.

Nassau Airport serves about 3 million passengers a year, making it the busiest airport in the Bahamas, and the country's main international gateway.

Nassau Airport is a major hub for Bahamasair.
