Stuttgart Airport (STR) Train & Subway Services

Fares above are for a 2 zone ticket. Valid for 2 hours travelling in one direction (transfers permitted).

S Bahn tickets are for sale at the train ticket vending machines of Deutsche Bahn AG (DB). There are ten such vending machines throughout Stuttgart Airport:

• 4 vending machines on the mezzanine level leading to the S-Bahn station (Terminal 1) 
• 1 vending machine each on the S-Bahn platforms (Stuttgart-bound and Filderstadt-bound) 
• 2 vending machines in the customs area (Terminal 1; accessible only to passengers arriving on international flights) 
• 2 vending machines in Terminal 3 (entry either right or left side) 
• Tickets are also available for purchase at the Welcome-Informations-Center.

Tickets should be validated at orange boxes on the platform before boarding the train.

If you are staying for more than a day, for added mobility buy a special 3 days ticket ("3-Tage-Ticket"). These are available at the airport. There are two types of 3-day tickets available; one covers the main Stuttgart city and the other is valid for the entire VVS network, including Ludwigsburg. Stuttgart's public transport is fully integrated and a travel ticket can be used on any mixture of buses and trains/trams that may be required to complete the journey.
