Vijayawada is on the main Chennai-Delhi and Chennai-Calcutta lines. Information call: 67771. The Tirupati Express goes to Puri and Tirupati. You will need to catch a taxi or rickshaw from the Vijayawada Airport to the train station in town.

The Coromandel Express #2842 leaves at 1520 and takes 21 hours to get to Calcutta via Bhubaneswar (13 hours). The Konark Express #1019 leaves at 1440 and takes 14 hours and goes to Bhubaneswar. The Coromandel Exp #2841 leaves at 1045 and takes 7 hours to go the 432 kilometres trip to Chennai.

The Tamil Nadu Express #2621 goes to Delhi at 0350 and takes 28 hours (1761 kilometres). The Konark Express #1020 goes to Secunderabad at 0440 and takes 7 hours and the East Coast Express #7045 goes to Hyderabad at 0030 and takes 9 hours. There are direct trains to Varanasi, Bangalore and Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum).

There are several trains a day to Visakhapatnam and Srikakulam Road.
