The 2 terminals at Kota Kinabalu Airport are located at opposite ends of the runway, and the roads leading from them to the city are different. A transfer between terminals can take 20-25 minutes, or longer.

• Terminal 1 is served by Malaysia Airlines and Royal Burnei Airlines
• Terminal 2 is primarily served by Air Asia

• Duty free
• Luggage storage - Terminal 1 (Level 3, by the frozen seafood shop!), Terminal 2 (near AirAsia ticketing)

• Birdnest shop - Terminal 1
• Tourist information - Terminal 2

Look around if you transit Terminal 1. The column head design in the Departure Hall is inspired by ‘Wakid’ basket design, a symbolic native practice used when preparing for a meaningful journey. Rungus and Bajau ethnic patterns also appear in the floor tiles.
