Private Tour: Eger Wine Country Day Trip from Budapest

Private Tour: Eger Wine Country Day Trip from Budapest
Duration:
11 hours
From:
USD 375.00
Visit the wineries and the township of beautiful Eger, Hungary’s northernmost red-wine-producing region on this private day trip from Budapest. With a private wine-expert guide, taste five to eight wines at each of three wineries including ‘Bull’s Blood’ (Egri Bikavér), the region’s most prominent red. Though better known for its reds, it also produces many whites (including native varietals like Leányka and Királyleányka).

Several of Eger’s best wineries are located in villages outside of town, but the town of Eger itself has played an important role in Hungary’s history, and is worth taking some time to explore. After taking a spin around town, you’ll be treated to a traditional Hungarian 3-course lunch, and cheeses and cured meats will accompany your final wine tasting.

Private Hungarian Wine Tasting Tour of Budapest

Private Hungarian Wine Tasting Tour of Budapest
Duration:
Flexible
From:
USD 98.00
Our wine tasting tours involve a convenient amount of culture which is approached through the popular and easy to digest world of gastronomy. More for the pampering of your taste buds than for intoxicating your brain, this tour offers the very height of that best kept secret of Central Europe: the rich world of Hungarian wines! One of the best ways to experience the country's culinary culture and the traditions that go with it is with a wine tasting in Budapest with many different international strains that have centuries old traditions here (like pinot noir and grigio, chardonnay, riesling, and a whole host of others), and many of our own (like furmint, aszú, bikavér, cserszegi f?szeres, etc.). If you are looking for a wine tasting holiday, Budapest is the perfect city; close enough culturally that all of the major European wines can be had (French, Italian, etc.), far enough that our own wine is well established, and very affordable at that.

While there is no direct Budapest Airport train to Terminal 2, the Train + 200E Bus COMBO is almost as easy.

The route below operates via the now-closed Terminal 1 (the references to Terminal 1 are intentional!).
