This is a very convenient and inexpensive ground transportation option from the GVA Geneva International Airport and around Geneva.


Geneva Airport Train Rates & Fares


The standard fare to Geneva city is CHF 3 for 1 hour's travel (also valid on buses) while 1st Class is CHF 5. A day pass ticket costs CHF 7. All passengers arriving in Geneva can obtain a FREE public transport ticket valid for 80 minutes for all public transport in Geneva (buses, trains, trams, boats), including transfers. The ticket machine giving out the special tickets is in the luggage hall, just before customs (see the Bus page to know what this machine looks like).

 

You may be required to show proof that you have actually flown into Geneva that day, so keep your boarding passes. Visitors to Geneva who stay in a Geneva hotel (including youth hostels), have the right to a public transport pass (valid on all buses, trains, trams, boats within Geneva) for the duration of their stay in Geneva. Ask the receptionist of your hotel.

The Geneva Airport train station is 300 metres from the Airport Departure/Arrivals levels. For Geneva Airport transfers to Geneva, all trains stop at Geneva-Cornavin (city centre) and run every 5 to 10 minutes 06:12 - 00:12. Beyond Geneva, there are direct connections to destinations in Switzerland and Europe including TGV. Trains run every 20 minutes to Lausanne. The fare is CHF 24 and travel time 1 hour.
