Bucharest Henri Coandă Airport (OTP) Train & Subway Services

There is a Bucharest Airport train, operated by Caile Ferate Romane (CFR) (the state railway), but you need to take a bus to get there (it's a short ride). The good news is this Bucharest Airport transfer has been made easy for you.

The Henri Coanda Express is a combined transfer service by minibus then train to the main train station, Bucuresti Nord (Gara de Nord). Here's how it works:

• The trip starts with a transfer by a minibus shuttle to a small train stop (CFR Airport Stop) 2 kilometres from the airport
• Catch the CFR Airport Stop minibus in front of the Arrivals hall 
• After a short bus ride (15-20 minutes), you will arrive at the CFR Airport Stop station
• Catch the train to Gara de Nord station
• The train ride will take about 30 minutes

• The total duration of the trip from Bucharest Airport to Gara de Nord station is about 50 minutes
• From Gara de Nord you can take public transport (metro and buses) or you can depart by train towards other cities in Romania 
• Bus schedules are synchronized with the train schedule (schedule available at airport bus stop) 
• The service runs hourly between 05:00 and 20:20 on a daily basis

This service was recently reinstated, 'temporarily'. Hopefully it will continue. If it doesn't, you could conceivably travel the same route, replacing the minibus with a taxi.
